Morning sickness is a condition that often occurs in pregnant women leading to nausea and vomiting. This usually occurs at the first month of pregnancy and it can be mild or severe right up to the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy. Although morning sickness usually takes place early in the morning, it is also known to occur at any time of the day. But the frequencies of occurrence will vary with the greatest being the morning hours and the least taking place at night.

·    A rise in the level of progesterone which loosen up the walls of the uterus. A loose in the uterine walls in turn loosens up the intestine and stomach walls, causing extra amount of acid to be accumulated in the stomach. This leads to nausea.
·    A rise in the level of human chronic gonadotropin.
·    An increase in the amount of estrogen in the body, which occurs at its peak during pregnancy.

What Are The Symptoms Of Morning Sickness?

The symptoms of morning sickness are easily noticeable. It is common to experience nausea and vomiting in the early hours of the morning. This often takes place as soon as the pregnant woman gets up from bed. The symptoms can also manifest during the day and even in the night. But it mostly occurs in the morning, while reducing as the day progresses.

How Can Morning Sickness Be Taken Care Of?

There are a number of ways to handle this condition. The most common, tested and proven methods include:
·    Steering clear of any activity that might stop you from eating.
·    Eat whenever you have the desire to eat. Most pregnant women will normally not have the appetite for eating whenever they feel like eating.
·    Eat lots of solid food and drink enough water as often as possible.
·    At lots of fruits.
·    In severe cases, it may be required to get help from the doctor. Some anti-nausea drugs may be helpful. This is especially when the pregnant woman experiences chronic vomiting and dehydration.
