Breaking a bad habit isn’t always easy.  Any habit, whether it’s bad or good, becomes so much a part of our personality that we generally don’t even realize we’re doing it, which is often the case when people bite their nails.  But you can stop biting your nails in 3 simple steps and have the beautiful nails that you’ve always dreamed of.

 

Post a “Before” and “After” picture – Take a “Before” picture of your nails and post it in several places where you can see it throughout the day.  The refrigerator, the bathroom mirror, your desk or filing cabinet.  Also clip pictures of perfect nails out of magazines and put the up side by side so you can see what your nails looked like when you started and how close you’re getting to reaching your goal.

 

Use deterrents – Help yourself stop biting your nails by polishing them with bitter tasting polishes or creams made for people who are trying to stop biting nails or you can even just scrape your nails over a bar of soap.

 

Reward yourself – Anytime you’re trying to develop a good habit you should reward yourself at little milestones.  For example, if you go a week without biting your nails, buy yourself a fancy color of nail polish.  When you make it to the first month without biting your nails, get yourself a professional manicure. To stop biting nails start setting your goals and rewarding yourself for achieving them. This technique will give you quicker results.
